Prep & Aftercare

Preparing for your appointment is just as important as taking care of the tattoo work post-procedure. Although everyone's skin will heal differently, the results also highly depend on following these steps before and after.

Preparing for your Appointment

Don't

Do not tweeze/wax/perform electrolysis one week before the procedure
Do not tan two weeks prior or if you have sunburned skin
Do not have any type of facial 2 weeks prior to procedure
Do not have Botox 2 weeks prior or after appointment
Do not wax or tint your eyebrows 3 days before the procedure.

Avoid Poor Color Retention

Do not drink alcohol less than 24 hours before your tattoo
Do not consume coffee or any caffeine before your procedure
Do not take aspirin, ibuprofen, or anything containing these ingredients for pain relief (this thins the blood)
Do not take Fish Oil or Vitamin E one week prior (natural blood thinners)
Do not use products containing Retinol

Caring for your Tattoo

Days 1-7

You can begin washing the area with a very mild facial cleanser on night 1
Wash 2x/day until all scabs have fallen off naturally
Apply thin layer of After Inked (Brows or Liner) or Glossed (Lips) 2-3x/day a day
Dab the treated area with a clean, damp tissue several times an hour on day 1 to absorb lymph fluid.
Only touch the treated area with sterile swabs or cotton
Use ice packs for swelling if needed for a maximum of 15 minutes at a time
Keep treated area as dry as possible (aside from washing 2x/day) for 7 days
Do not use makeup on the tattooed area for 7 days
